Why you should opt for naturally low sulphite wines
Sulphites in wine has been an issue that is largely unknown by a lot of the general public, and they are completely unaware of the severe harm that they can cause. Those who are aware of it only consider the allergic reactions that sulphite can cause in sulphite sensitive people, and have the impression that everyone else is safe. This is wrong, Sulphites harm everyone, it’s only those of us who are allergic to it that it can actively be seen in, causing harm.
Sulphites are scientifically proved to be heavily linked to causing cancer and asthma in the developed world, this is to the point that the Centre for Scientific Research in the Public interest in the 1970’s actually recommended that sulphites be banned following over 30 deaths from people that all ate from a salad bar in the USA.
Currently, the British Medical Association are recommending that the government ‘phase them out’, the only problem being that sulphites are in more or less every food and drink in the UK.
Do you have a sulphite allergy? If you feel ill after a couple of glasses of supermarket wine, a pint of beer or a processed meal, you may be allergic, after all it effects 10% of the population, and it’s on the rise.
Because the high sulphite levels in wine cause allergic reactions in sulphite sensitive people, they think that it’s wine in general, or alcohol which causes the reactions, however the simple solution is drinking naturally low sulphite wine, which has next to no sulphites in it, making it safe for people with sulphite allergies, as well as being healthier than other wines which have those cancer causing sulphites in them, so a great option for everyone, sulphite sensitive or not!
If you ask your local wine merchant about Low Sulphite wine you should be able to get something suitable. If you don’t have a wine merchant, which is understandable as there aren’t many decent wine merchants around these days, then there is a selection of Low Sulphite wine readily available from Good Wine Online www.goodwineonline.com
